First looks have become increasingly popular over the last few years, and there are a few good reasons for that! If you are considering doing a first look on your wedding day, read on to learn some of the benefits, as well as learn about different first looks you can have!
If you’re at all nervous about the idea of walking down the aisle in front of your guests, you should consider a first look with your partner. Seeing them before the ceremony can calm any nerves you have! It can be a sweet moment with the two of you, or you can include your closest family members and wedding party.
A first look between you and your partner can make for some great, authentic, emotional moments that are beautiful to capture on camera. You will have more time to react and process than if you are at the alter or walking down the aisle.
One more benefit of having a first look is that you can schedule more photos before the ceremony! You can choose to get family photos, wedding party, and wedding portraits out of the way entirely. That means you can mingle with more guests during your cocktail hour, instead of using all that time for pictures. Alternatively, you just have that many more photos to cherish.
If you’re not sold on the idea of a first look between you and your partner, that’s completely fine! Your wedding is a unique celebration of you and your partner, and what you choose should represent who you are and your love. However, if you want some alternative ideas to the traditional first look between you and your partner, you can consider: a first look with your wedding party or a first look with a family member. These moments are just as sweet, and are more unique!
